Next to the bold and technical Raider Harpoon, Bivouac 9000 or Bathy 120 Memodepth, the Favre Leuba Sky Chief Date is the brand’s most classic offering. Nonetheless, the model retains an asserted personality. In particular, its round case stands out with its signature “bridge” shaping the profile of the case and its faceted bezel. After launching a 40mm version in 2019, Favre Leuba now introduces three new models of the 43mm version fitted with new dials and bezel combinations.
The two new dial colours added to the collection are a satin-finish dark spring green – which is also available with a pink gold bezel – and an icy white version. Both dials still feature the brand’s distinctive applied hour markers featuring luminescent material for optimal legibility in all conditions.
As Urs Gottscheu from Favre Leuba points out: “We wanted to slightly move away from the previously restrained colours (black, dark blue, grey) and bring in a fresher look. A well-combinable colour, which works with a red gold bezel but also as a standalone with a steel bezel. Wearable every day, not too flashy, but still strong in symbolism and for its wearer.”
The Favre Leuba Sky Chief Date 43mm is powered by the ubiquitous ETA 2824-2. This tried-and-tested automatic runs at 28,800 vibrations/hour and boasts 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The 43mm case is available in stainless steel or stainless steel with a pink gold bezel. Thanks to the screw-in crown and to the screwed and aligned caseback, the water-resistance is guaranteed to 100m.
The Favre Leuba Sky Chief Date 43mm comes on a calf leather strap with pin buckle or on a steel bracelet with safety folding clasp. The watch retails for CHF 1,950 in steel on leather strap, CHF 2,150 in steel on bracelet and CHF 3,950 on steel/gold on leather strap.
